Delete your Ekky account

You can delete your Ekky account and the data linked to it at any time, in the app or by email. This page is for the Ekky app by Velassi.

In the app

Fastest. Takes effect straight away.

  1. Open Ekky and sign in.
  2. Go to Profile.
  3. Tap Delete account.
  4. Confirm. You are signed out and your data is deleted.

Without the app

If you no longer have the app installed.

  1. Write to velassi.co@gmail.com.
  2. Send it from the Google address you sign in to Ekky with, so we know the account is yours.
  3. Say that you want your Ekky account deleted, and whether your reviews should be removed too.
  4. We delete it and reply within 30 days.
Email us

What is deleted

  • Your scan history.
  • Your Ekky Plus status on our side.
  • Your votes on reviews, the reports you sent and the people you blocked.
  • Your display name and language settings. The account is marked as deleted and can no longer be used.
  • Your sign-in record (your name, email and the link to your Google account).
  • Your customer record at our subscription provider.
  • The copy of your data on your phone (sign-in tokens and offline cache).

What is kept, and for how long

DataWhat happens
Your reviewsStay visible but anonymised: they show “Deleted user” and are no longer linked to you. To have them removed instead, email us before you delete the account, or write to us afterwards from the same address.
Purchase recordsRecords of Ekky Plus purchases are kept as long as accounting and tax law requires.
BackupsEncrypted daily backups roll over, so deleted data can remain in a backup for up to about 6 months. Backups are only used to restore the service after a failure.
Server logsDeleted after about 14 days.

Ekky Plus subscription

Deleting your account does not cancel an Ekky Plus subscription. Cancel it in Google Play: open the Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Ekky → Cancel subscription.
